Areas We Cover: Local Transport in Cockermouth, Cumbria and the Lake District
Tracy’s Travel provides local transport from Cockermouth across Cumbria and the Lake District. We are a private hire service, so you book your journey in advance, and we confirm a fixed rate before you travel.

Where We Provide Local Transport
We provide private hire transport across Cumbria, and we organise our coverage around five areas.
Cockermouth and Nearby Villages:
Cockermouth is our home patch, so we collect passengers from the town centre and from nearby villages such as Papcastle, Brigham, Dearham, Lorton and Great Broughton. We take you to local shops, restaurants, appointments and railway connections.
West Cumbria Towns:
We run local transport to Workington, Maryport and Whitehaven. Passengers use these journeys for work, shopping and social events, and we take passengers to Workington station for train connections.
The Lake District:
We provide private hire transport to Keswick, Derwentwater, Borrowdale, Bassenthwaite and Buttermere. Visitors can book our car or minibus for a day out, and locals can book us for an evening in Keswick.
Carlisle, Penrith and the Wider Cumbria Area:
We also drive to Carlisle and Penrith, where passengers join mainline train services. For longer journeys elsewhere in Cumbria, such as the southern Lakes, you can ask us for a fixed rate.

Our Vehicles
We run two vehicles. Our 4-seater car carries up to four passengers, and our 8-seater minibus carries up to eight passengers. Both vehicles are clean and comfortable, and both come with a friendly driver.
How to Book Local Transport in Your Area
- You tell us your pickup address, destination, date, time and the number of passengers.
- We check that we cover your route, and we confirm a fixed rate.
- Your driver arrives at the agreed time.
- You travel in comfort to your destination.
It is a private hire taxi service, and thus all trips need to be made on a pre-arranged basis. This will ensure that your taxi arrives at an agreed upon time.
